Finish Quilts by DaGMT 2013

Jackie from, Jackie's Art Quilts, emailed me about Quilting Hottie Haven's DaGMT 2013, Drop and Give Me Twenty. This is a fantasic idea to get you back into your sewing room and get those ufo's/wip's done.

 

I, Kat, am running out of time to complete show samples and need this short deadline to get a move on. By joining Quilting Hottie Haven's second annual DaGMT event, and pledging to piece or write instructions for at least 30 minutes every day of the month of February, 2013, I hope to have 1 sample completed months in advance and the 2nd sample well underway. I absolutely think Beth Helfter is brilliant for coming up with this concept and inspiring me to join.


 

Stars

Over and over and over again I say that the days go by way too fast! Less than a week left in January. Eleven more months and Christmas will done for another year and I'll be gearing up for year end books. Friends that are 10-20 years older say that it goes by even faster. How can that be!? Well, the books are finally done and off to the accountant. More sew time, alright!

Stars have always been a favourite. For this star to be the first piecing project I must have been brain dead. Maybe it was the numbers rolling around in the head. Oh yeah. Piece of cake. Easy peasy. Sixteen seams at the center. No problem. Are you kidding me! It took forever but it's done. I even like the swirl in the centre. Gives it character.

 



A New Year A New Adventure

Well, here goes nothing. Just mailed my very first submission to anything, a quilt block using these fabrics along with a quilt picture using the block to Quiltmaker 100 Blocks. Am crossing fingers, toes, eyes that it will make the cut.
