Two Thirds Blocks 97-99

Check out proud quilter, 87 year old John Friesen who took up quilting after his surgery. This is another proof that if you want to do it you can. Awesome.

Spent the weekend on Quincy's Quilting 1st annual shop hop. What fun and games! Our fearless leader, Melissa, had us hopping off to find Quincy in each store - how can a dachshund get to the next shop before the bus - and hopping back on with armfuls of quilting necessities.

Edmonton first shop
Johnson's in Edmonton AB - (in red) I'm only at the back still looking and already a line up at the cutting table.
Winfield final shop
Country  Stitches in Winfield AB - Only the beginning of 7000 bolts
Sing with me. (tune 99 bottles of beer on the wall)
96 blocks on the wall, 96 blocks on the wall, you sew one up and put it up, 97 blocks on the wall.
97 blocks on the wall, 97 blocks on the wall, you sew one up and put it up, 98 blocks on the wall.
98 blocks on the wall, 98 blocks on the wall, you sew one up and put it up, 99 blocks on the wall.
99 blocks on the wall, 99 blocks on the wall, you sew one up and put it up, you're now two thirds of the way.

Week 32 Blocks 94 to 96

Summer is here! Calgary Stampede is just around the corner.
If anyone is in Calgary and has a craving for pancakes and sausage stop in at the free breakfasts that the Stampede Caravan does at the malls. I'm on the A team and if you happen to be where the A team is stop by and say howdy.

Deck update. It's gone. Watch out the first step is a doosy. Have to jump over to the landing. A new deck is in progress, unfortunately in two phases. ðŸ˜© So after next year we hope not to be under construction for a long time. Now I remember why we use to move every 5 years.

We now have some Canadian flags and fabric by Northcott check under Fabrics on the website.
about 10" x  20"
This is the 32nd week. Doctor, Lawyer or Dentist anyone.

If anyone has more information, even if it is her birth date and birth place, on Caroline Wells, Block 96, it would be greatly appreciated. Then her information can be updated and passed on to all. I'm sure someone out there can solve the mystery.

Blocks 91-93 Deck Whipper Snipping Connection

It's been one of those weeks. Everything in order. Not. Well yes, but lots of added extras.

It started out great. The 150 Canadian Women quilt program is featured in Quilter's Connection magazine summer 2017 issue.

Then what started out as a simple deck reno has turned into a complete re-build. I had an idea about what the problems were but hoped the solution would be a board here and a board there. But nope. It was like opening a can of worms.

Thirdly, I was in such a hurry to whipper snip and mow the grass that this beautiful iris was whipper snipped. For some reason it wanted to be put into water and lo and behold look what appeared the next day. I've never noticed the beards before. Awesome.

Week 31 a naturalist, a questionable business woman, and an unstoppable nurse and midwife.

Three fifths completed. Oh so close.
The time has flown by. It's summer. Beautiful days. July 1 is just around the corner.
Spent last weekend vending at the fabulous Lethbridge Festival of Quilts. These ladies are awesome and they create awesome quilts.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hi.

This week we travel by all means around Nova Scotia, sail Newfoundland to New York and mine across Canada.
